Teriyaki sauce

This really is one unique sauce. It looks scrumptious, you have to agree with that, but that’s not all there is to it, as it also happens to have the perfect balance of sweet, savoury and umami. Plus, you can basically brush it on every food you desire, to turn it in seconds into a luscious and glossy final product that will please both your eyes and your appetite. This is another of those preparations that require zero skills and very little time to be executed, so why not giving it a try to see if you enjoy it as much as we do? Buona preparazione!

Ingredients[ ounces / grams ]
15gdark soy sauce
60gwater
1 clovegarlic
1 sliceginger
12gcaster sugar
4gcorn starch
10gwater (to dilute the starch)
1 tbspdark soy sauce
¼ cupwater
1 clovegarlic
1 sliceginger
3 tspcaster sugar
2 tspcorn starch
2 tspwater (to dilute the starch)
Instructions
  1. Place the sugar, the water, the soy sauce, the garlic and the ginger into a small saucepan. Turn on the heat to medium and start stirring.
  2. Bring the liquid to the boil and lower the heat to the minimum.
  3. On the side, mix the starch with a touch of water, add the mixture to the boiling ingredients and start stirring the ingredients to obtain the final sauce.
